About Adam Freedman
A lawyer by training, Adam Freedman is an accomplished journalist and fiction writer. In 1998-99, he gave up practicing law altogether to live in Buenos Aires as an editor and columnist for the Buenos Aires Herald.
Freedman's travel, humor, and first-person have appeared in Newsweek International, Slate, The Guardian Weekly and elsewhere. He is also a columnist for the New York Law Journal.
Elated by Details, which won the 2002 Mayhaven Publishing Award for Adult Fiction, is Freedman's first book. Freedman's short fiction has also been recognized in the G.S. Sharat Chandra Prize for Fiction; the Green River Writers Competition; 2002 Ray Bradbury Short Story Fellowship Contest; the H.E. Francis Short Story Competition; the Skyline Magazine Fiction contest; and the New York Law Journal Legal Fiction competition.
Freedman has degrees from Yale, University of Chicago, and Oxford. He lives in Brooklyn with his fiancé, the interior designer Kathleen Walsh. He is currently working on a novel.
